Lactating ewes

The period after lambing is when the lactating ewes have the highest nutritional requirements. They are milking heavy to feed their lambs and also need to recover from their pregnancy and delivery. Lambs will start to eat hay at about a week old. By the time they’re 3-4 months old they are on their way to being weaned by their mothers. 👩‍🌾
